We’re both proud and delighted to let you know about a couple of Google Alerts we received recently which let us know that our bestselling book - The Heart of Marketing: Love Your Customers and They Will Love You Back (Morgan James 2009) – is showing up with praise and recognition in other people’s blogs.
The two examples below are from blogs written by people we do not know. AND we want to stress that we don’t have a professional (or even amateur) publicist creating stories and “feeding” them to these blog hosts.
This kind of heart marketing material is spontaneous and the result of the writers’ response to our book — however they found out about it on their own.
Michelle Blakeley named The Heart of Marketing to her Top 31 Best Books for the Solopreneur and Small Business Owner. She said:
—>>> The Heart of Marketing: Love Your Customers and They Will Love You Back by Judith Sherven, Ph.D., and Jim Sniechowski, Ph.D. - It is the solopreneur’s guide to heart-based, client-oriented, soft-sell marketing.
And in Writer’s Weekly
Alice J. Wisler wrote in her article “Selling Books Like a Client Advisor”
—>>> In their book, The Heart of Marketing: Love Your Customers and They Will Love You Back, authors Judith Shervin and Jim Sniechowski are more interested in creating a relationship than closing a sale. They use the soft-sale approach to marketing products and services as opposed to the bottom-line driven method. Much recognition has been given to them as they lead others in this heart-inspired style of doing business.
(note Sherven is spelled with an e, not an “i” — but Alice is more than forgiven!)

Do you know that your Internal Soft Sell Marketing Platform is the Heart Marketing GPS for your entire business?
We didn’t at first and most people don’t . . . and that’s like trying to run a race with one leg . . . or like trying to succeed with your online business with half of what you MUST know locked away behind a dark wall.
That’s why we’ve put so much time and care into creating our first Virtual Workshop to help you learn …
*** How to discover, in yourself, what you need in order to build success online (or offline as well) by standing firmly on your own Internal Soft Sell Marketing Platform ***
This is a Free Event, Thursday June 8th at 5:30 pm PT. For registration and to get the access information for the call, just sign up at:
http://budurl.com/platformask
We’re calling this free workshop - “Discovering Your Internal Marketing Platform” because that’s the heart marketing foundation of your external marketing success.
And you can certainly invite your friends and colleagues to register too!
Remember, if your marketing platform does not begin within, you can only stumble and fall, losing faith and energy as you continually jump around trying to make things work.
But when you build your business from the deep core of who you are, then when you come across marketing plan examples, you’ll have a basis of evaluating how they fit what you do, or not. You’ll have a sense of priority and clear intention that guides your success every step of the way into your ever growing success.
Because It’s All in the Connection,

The other day we went to Starbucks for tea and a bit of pondering about “the meaning of life” and especially our own lives since having been “guided” to make a radical turn from providing psychotherapy and relationship counseling to becoming the voice for Soft Sell, Heart-based Marketing.
And, as may happen to you from time to time, our musings were answered — at least for that time. But not in any way you might predict.
Instead, as Jim played with his Starbucks cup, he began to notice that there wasn’t just commercial advertising on it.
In fact, it was a form of Grace, an Extended Prayer of Love and Respect — from Starbucks to the interweaving life-forms that inhabit this planet.
Word-for-word, here’s the message:
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
YOU
Have been working with Conservation International For 10 Years.
Everything we do, you do. Buy our coffee, and good things happen. Take Starbucks 1-year partnership with CI in making things better for farmers and the planet. Now that includes focusing on climate change too — together with CI and farmers we can keep up to 100 tons of CO2 out of the atmosphere for every acre of tropical forest we protect. It makes a difference.
Just like you do. Congratulations, you.
Partnering with Conservation International
Starbucks SHARED PLANET
You and Starbucks. It’s bigger than coffee.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
So the next time you’re in a Starbucks, remember that your dollars are helping to make a difference — not just to corporate and the staff and management of that store — but to the entire planet due to Starbucks’ commitment to Conscious Capitalism and giving back.
And when you buy from us, you support our work as we continue to get the word out about Soft Sell — Bridging Heart and Marketing — so that worldwide commerce has a better chance to enter the 21st Century and serve not just the bank accounts of the already wealthy, but also serve the well-being of all who participate.
So now — how can you expand the use your business to help improve life on this Shared Planet?

Sometimes doing business online can feel like it’s all about hard sell profiteering. At least that’s how the hard sell big-profit guys often come across.
That’s why it’s so important to remember that the majority of people who search Google to find what they need are neither hard sell minded nor are they susceptible to a hard sell message. Instead, they are non-marketers looking for a heart-based marketing message that speaks directly to their needs, their desire for a better life. And, whether they are having a spiritual challenge, a health problem, or they’re looking for a new approach to living a fabulous life — they want to connect with someone they can trust understands them.
And that’s you — when you’re marketing message comes from your heart – right from the start.
And that’s how you come across when you promote and market your soul-based work with sincere concern for people’s lives, for the connection we all share, for the planet we inhabit that needs our protection.
So don’t be shy about expressing your heart-based marketing message whenever you can. Those people who resonate with the hard sell jargon and fluff and fury - they are not your customers. Period. Don’t worry about them.
The people you resonate with are the same people who will resonate with you when you trust your value, relax into your value, and expand on how you get your marketing message across.
Those are just 3 ways that Soft Sell Marketing provides a solid spiritual and personal base for your sincere and natural marketing. You’ll also grow your sales and grow your business as you grow yourself — when you stand behind and develop your heart-based marketing message!
To get the solid technical and strategic marketing help you need to get your heart-based marketing message across to the largest audience possible, be sure to visit

The deeper we move into Soft Sell, Heart-based Marketing, the more we see how simple your marketing messages can be — as long as they are developed from and through love.

So that’s why we are inviting you to join us this Thursday for a Free, No-cost Tele-training -
“7 Reasons Why Soft Sell Marketing is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to the Future of Your Business”
It’s this Thursday, May 13th at 5:30 pm PT — and it will be love-based for sure!
So get registered to receive the webcast and phone information -
http://bridgingheartandmarketing3.com/7reasons

No business runs without challenges.
And certainly an online business offers even more than its share of challenges – both internal and external. That’s why we encourage you to relate to your online business as a form of spiritual therapy.
The internal challenges — everything that rattles and challenges who you’ve been and how you experience yourself. Because, even if you’re fairly savvy in the game called “business”, due to the volatile nature of doing business online there can be even more radical * leaps to success, *wake-up calls, and * major melt-downs — just to name a few of the rattling that can leave you sleepless and rattling.
The external challenges — everything coming at you from the outer world like all that Internet technology to master and manage. And there’s all those affiliates and joint venture partners who let you down, don’t send out for you, or maybe even refuse to pay you affiliate commissions that are due for your good efforts on their behalf.
And as a Heart-based, Soft Sell Marketer, you’ve no doubt avoided developing that thick skin that’s allowed the Hard Sell folks to coerce and connive, creating rotten deals that still leave their conscience intact while they deposit the big money in their off-shore banks. But instead, if anything, you’re think skinned, maybe you’ve been told over and over that “You’re too sensitive.”
Well, you’re NOT too sensitive. You are a wonderfully feeling-filled human who knows you are connected to all of life, and you ARE sensitive to what happens to your customers and to yourself. That’s why it’s extremely powerful to understand your online business as a kind of spiritual therapy. Because that helps you be respectful of every disorienting experience you have.
Then each one is a blessing for your spiritual growth and awakening. And that way you build your business while you grow your Self.

We are devoted to promoting the truth and wisdom of Soft Sell Marketing, not just because you - as a service provider - need a marketing voice that matches your integrity, but because the world needs what you do.
Your work is a kind of prayer, a kind of sacred gift to the inner wisdom that each of us carries – but that much of the time lies dormant.
This applies whether you’re involved in physical healing, relationship development, respectful and inspirational parenting, greater availability to success and achievement– you name it – the human mind/body/spirit is still largely untapped as to its true potential.
And you are one of the “tappers” – someone who is committed - through your specific work – to awakening that greater spiritual energy center that each individual knows is deep within – but has rarely had access to.
Now – How did you feel reading this?
Because if you’ve taken it in – really taken it in - then your natural marketing impulse won’t be far behind. You’ll know that your work extends the prayer for all life on this planet. And you will feel compelled to expand your soul-based work to touch as many lives as you can.
Are you ready?
If so, then developing your natural marketing skills will become – well, natural. You’ll join us in wanting the best marketing platform to get the word out about your area of expertise. You’ll take on the commitment to letting people know how they can deeply benefit from what you provide.
And you’ll see that it’s important that you build your business as you grow your Self! And there’s no better way to do that than by becoming a spiritual student of Soft Sell, Heart-based marketing.
To help you do that, we encourage you to experience the
“Bridging Heart and Marketing III Soft Sell Training Collection”

The Joneses are just like the family next door - only an uptown version. But that’s just what they look like. And, as we all know, appearances can be VERY deceiving. And so it is with the Joneses.
That’s when the fun, and the darkness begin. And believe it or not, this cleverly crafted, and well acted tale of what’s wrong with the world as it appears — is actually a tale of our overblown, image-addicted, monstrously commercial, soul-sucking culture that’s costing waaaaaay too much financially and even more spiritually.
(Was I - Judith - too strong? Leave a comment and let me know.)
Why go see this newly released film? Because it’s good. It’s really good. Well acted, solid plot, tells an important story, and - well, these days it’s hard to say that about many films.
(AND ……psssst …..it’s about marketing and sales, and it’s a really provocative marketing message.)

Today a new friend sent us this rather revealing Webinar announcement:
“Webinar: Successful Negotiation Tactics for Sales Professionals
Attend this Webinar to Improve your Ability to Negotiate Profitable Deals and Hold Clients to your Terms”
How did you feel reading it?
First - I feel pity for the “Sales Professionals” that are gullible enough to sell their souls to this kind of power-squeezing approach to business.
Second - I want to warn their clients to run for the hills AND find sales people who care about serving their clients’ needs NOT “holding them to the sales person’s terms.”
Three - Can you really hold someone to your own terms and consider that a success? Because that kind of coercion creates nothing but resentment — conscious or not.
And — when you do, what kind of relationship do you really have with your so-called clients?
And — what kind of world are you creating for yourself? And for the next generation - your children and grandchildren — that follow after you?
So, we ask you — how can you use your care for your clients, your sincere care for improving the world we all share that is at the heart of your marketing message the Soft Sell, Love-based Marketing way — to touch the deepest needs of those you serve while feeding your own soul, growing your Self, and adding to your bank account all at the same time!?
Only that way can you truly enjoy sharing the gifts of your service and sleep peacefully without guilt or shame. And you then know that bridging your heart with your marketing respects and serves all that you do.
